The Murderers Are Flaunting

What could possibly account for this display of viciousness?

Florida legislators considering a bill to require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion were shocked during a committee hearing this week when a Planned Parenthood official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.

Alisa LaPolt Snow, the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, testified that her organization believes the decision to kill an infant who survives a failed abortion should be left up to the woman seeking an abortion and her abortion doctor.

"So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief," said Rep. Jim Boyd. "If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

"We believe that any decision that's made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician," said Planned Parenthood lobbyist Snow.

Truly a mind-boggling display of bloodthirstiness. Not even the Communist Chinese go that far. But why?

My thesis is that the prosecution of Kermit Gosnell has ripped off all the masks. Planned Parenthood is a major abortion provider. They not only proclaim a woman's "right to choose" -- to choose to kill her unborn child, that is -- they make a nice piece of change facilitating that "choice." If atrocities such as have been documented at Gosnell's abattoir haven't occurred at PP abortion centers, I'll be very surprised.

That makes it necessary for PP and its boosters to do one of two things:

  • Deny, deny, deny;
  • Flaunt their viciousness and dare anyone to do anything about it.

Note that Miss Snow speaks on behalf of the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates. To the best of my knowledge, no high official of PP has yet stepped forward with the corporation's official stance. It should disturb PP's management, at least somewhat, to have an "affiliated" group make such statements right out in front of God and everybody.

It should...but maybe it doesn't.

Maybe PP figures it's all going to come out now. Maybe its strategists have decided that the only chance of avoiding the condemnation Gosnell faces is to mainstream the performance of infanticide: to proclaim it as yet another facet, heretofore unexplored, of "a woman's right to choose" that should be utterly noncontroversial. Any day now we'll start hearing the new slogan: To oppose infant murder is to oppress women!

Hey, when you've shoved 50 million unborn children into a macerator, what's a few more? Even if they are post-natal, healthy, breathing babies?

When the legal status of abortion was first addressed in Congress, conservatives argued that it would ultimately lead to infanticide. They said it was functionally identical to Nazi eugenics practices and those of savage peoples who "disposed" of newborns adjudged "unfit." Liberals pooh-poohed all such notions.

Well, we know which side was more prescient today. But the pro-infanticide forces won't give in without a fight:

PHILADELPHIA - March 18, 2013 (WPVI) -- A lawyer defending a Philadelphia abortion provider on murder charges accused officials of "an elitist, racist prosecution," as the death-penalty trial opened Monday.

Lawyer Jack McMahon also accused city officials of "a prosecutorial lynching" of his client, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, who is black.

Gosnell, 72, is accused of running a rogue clinic that ignored the state ban on third-term abortions and 24-hour waiting periods. Prosecutors say he also maimed desperate, often poor women and teens by letting his untrained staff perform abortions and give anesthesia. And they say he got rich doing it, by performing a high volume of substandard abortions....

But McMahon says city officials are applying "Mayo Clinic" standards to Gosnell's inner-city office in West Philadelphia.

"This is a targeted, elitist and racist prosecution of a doctor who's done nothing but give (back) to the poor and the people of West Philadelphia," the fiery McMahon insisted to the predominantly black jury, as Gosnell sat serenely taking notes. "It's a prosecutorial lynching of Dr. Kermit Gosnell."

Oh, I see:

RAAAACIST!

How typical. When compelled to defend the indefensible, play the race card. It's what liberals and racist Negroes always do...especially when there's money at stake. And no income stream is more important to the Left than that of the abortion industry.
